Instruments of Praise (IOP) is a worship experience open to believers of all ages and backgrounds. We are a Christ-centered ministry that leads people in authentic worship—deepening their connection to God.We are passionate about equipping and empowering Kingdom creatives to boldly use their gifts as vessels of worship and impact for the glory of God. We believe in the Oneness of Christ: that there is one God, the Creator of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally existing in three manifestations—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Founded in 2016, IOP is a Spirit-led creative arts ministry and worship platform designed to provide a space like no other—a space where every believer can freely express their God-given gifts and become an instrument of praise to the King of Glory.
Our mission is to encourage all believers to glorify Jesus Christ through their talents, callings, and creativity. We believe in experiencing the authentic glory of God—an atmosphere not led by people or music, but by God Himself. As found in 2 Chronicles 5:13–14 (KJV), we strive to create moments where His presence fills the room and leads us in complete unity and surrender.
IOP welcomes creatives across the full spectrum of the arts—from mimers to rappers, singers to poets, dancers to visual artists. We also celebrate and support entrepreneurs and business owners, offering opportunities to market and sell their products during our events. We remain rooted in community impact, always prioritizing local artists, dancers, and creatives in the Los Angeles area and beyond.
With a legacy of service and a heart for worship, Instruments of Praise continues to grow—empowering Kingdom creatives, building faith-filled communities, and making room for God to move in powerful, unfiltered ways.

MEET OUR VISIONARY
Derrick Botts, Jr. is a Los Angeles native who continues to emerge as a dynamic voice among this generation’s leaders in ministry and creativity. He is a visionary entrepreneur, event planner, graphic designer, and conference host with a heart for empowering creatives and building intentional spaces for Kingdom impact.
Derrick serves faithfully as Youth Director and Church Administrator at his home church, Gethsemane God’s Garden of Prayer in Los Angeles, California, under the leadership of Suffragan Bishop Wayne Botts ,First Lady Joyce Botts and Pastor Darnell Botts. He also serves as the Program Coordinator for the International Pentecostal Young People’s Union (IPYPU) and was recently appointed Vice President of the Central California District Council (CCDC) Pentecostal Young People’s Union, under the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW).
He has had the privilege of working behind the scenes as assistant producer for a benefit concert featuring Grammy Award-winning artist Erica Campbell, producing local artist showcases, and serving as a lead graphic designer for city government events. He has also operated as an event planner and stage manager for high-profile clients across Southern California.
In 2016, Derrick founded Instruments of Praise (IOP)—a ministry platform created to uplift and empower Kingdom creatives from all walks of artistic expression, including dancers, mimers, singers, poets, rappers, and even entrepreneurs. IOP continues to thrive as a space for anointed worship experiences, creative workshops, and Glory-filled concerts, all designed to point back to the King of Glory.
In 2023, Derrick married the love his life Kailyn, who now serves alongside him, fully supporting the vision and heart behind IOP and all God has entrusted to them.
Above all, Derrick values creating experiences that embody the love of Christ, build up the body of believers, and bless the communities they are called to reach locally and globally.
